There are few areas, except for a couple of tourist destinations, where English is spoken. The port of Cartagena de Indias (as it is officially called) is located approximately 3.5km (2 miles) from the old city, in the Manga neighborhood.

If you want something a bit more upscale, this restaurant will fit the bill. The contemporary cuisine will have a distinct Colombian flavor. You can dine in the courtyard, on the roof terrace, or in the dining room. Ceviche is a seafood dish made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juice. American chef Anthony Bourdain ate here in 2018 on a visit to Cartagena and loved it.
